TAIREncodes WRKY1, a member of the WRKY transcription factors in plants involved in disease resistance, abiotic stress, senescence as well as in some developmental processes. WRKY1 is involved in the salicylic acid signaling pathway. The crystal structure of the WRKY1 C-terminal domain revealed a zinc-binding site and identified the DNA-binding residues of WRKY1.
